New(ish) Sculpture
Zombie World Trade Center
Here's a piece I completed in late September entitled Zombie World Trade Center. At the time, I had been thinking about the use of fear as a tool and how the administration had developed a habit of reminding us of 9/11 whenever they needed support. The more I contemplated this tactic, the more it felt like a B-movie horror flick, where the monster suddenly reappears every time the audience thinks it's safe.
I guess that's what it boils down to: 2749 dead souls, used like a screen-writer's plot device. At least they seem to have backed off since the election. It's just too bad that it doesn't really matter who is in power.
